Bicentennial Park of Tuxtla Gutiérrez

Bicentennial Park of Tuxtla Gutiérrez
Here stands the Monument to the Flag, which features an enormous flagpole 25 meters high and was built in 1942, with a covering of flat reliefs of pre-Hispanic inspiration that serve as a backdrop to two female figures joining hands, representing the annexation of Chiapas to the Republic of Mexico in 1824.
The park has children's play areas, a space for public events, food vendors and restrooms. Did you know? The Bicentennial Park was given that name following the celebration of 200 years of independence in Mexico, after the old “Parque Morelos” was remodeled.
