Iglesia Vieja Archaeological Zone

Iglesia Vieja Archaeological Zone
It is one of the largest archaeological sites on the coast, and its constructions are megaliths, approximately 1800 years old, from a culture that is probably Mixe-Zoque or Tonalteco. The area is made up of several sectors, among which are the main plaza, the altar of the four faces, the altar of the sapodrilo and the ceremonial center. This last one is located at the highest part of the hill, with a surface area of more than 300 m2.
