Agua Clara

Agua Clara
Few places boast waters as turquoise as those of Agua Clara, nestled in the Lacandon Jungle, in the Tzeltal region. Agua Clara is located 40 km along the Palenque-Ocosingo highway and is only just beginning to be developed as an ecotourism center managed by the locals. The scenery is stunning, especially during the summer season.

This is the ideal place for ecotourism activities. With a warm climate all year round, you can swim, go kayaking on the Shumulhá River, ride horses, hike, or go mountain biking. In short, the beauty of the place and its great variety of flora and fauna make it perfect for any outdoor activity. The indigenous community holds important celebrations that you can witness, such as the changing of the traditional authorities.
